Leg 2

Las Vegas for this week. Staying in a swanky hotel with what seems like half of Tauranga celebrating a good friends 50th birthday.
I was here in 1990 but this town is a completely different animal now. Bigger than Ben Hur and hedonism gone mad.
We took a trip in a Eurocopter to the Grand Canyon today. A rare day with cu's - bases looked about 13000ft AGL.
Temp 43 deg on the ground - last night (this morning) at 2am it was still 38 deg.

View out of hotel window of distant cu's
in distance over Mojave desert. A rare sight.

Leaving for Frankfurt on Thursday.

Leg one

It's started.
For me anyway - Barbara & I left NZ a little earlier than the others to get a bit of R&R enroute.
Pearl Harbour (Harbor?) thermal over HMNZS Canterbury

Currently on Waikiki Beach getting better wx than you all. Did the Pearl Harbour touristy thing today & the highlight was seeing the HMNZS Canterbury alongside. Not the prettiest ship in the world but the crew looked mighty proud.

Thanks to David Jensen for guiding me through setting this blog up.
(some suggested titles were: "My invasion of Poland...only 60 years late" or
"Don't mention the war...too often"
"Outlanding and sauerkraut" "How Sth Africa beat the Luftwaffe"  OR
whatever.)
Enough said there.
.
My intentions are to make this blog an interface between the NZ team to Poland -
John Coutts (18m class), Steve Wallace (15m class), myself (Brett, 18m class), and anyone interested back in NZ and wherever. We will all have the keys to the blog-site along with Adam Cumberlege (Team Captain) and out respective crews.

So hopefully when things get underway you will have daily updates from us.
